Online Writing Course

Mapping Out Your Plot

Online //

22nd November 2025
2pm – 4.30pm UK Time

Are you at that stage where you need help with plot and streamlining your story? Anna Freeman is the perfect tutor to help you. Whether you’ve got a full draft of a work-in-progress, or just the seed of an idea, this masterclass will help you map out a plot that keeps readers turning those pages. Anna has condensed all the good bits from her popular How to Plot A Page Turner longer course into this 2.5 hour workshop.  Suitable for any kind of fiction, nonfiction, or memoir, at any stage. You’ll come away with a plot plan to guide you as you write or edit, and you might even have fun doing it.

Session Outline

  • Creating hooky openings and satisfying endings
  • Moving a character through a development arc
  • How to keep momentum and avoid the notorious saggy middle
  • Creating impactful plot points and setting them up to land effectively
  • How to build suspense, conflict and high stakes — even in a subtle or slow-paced novel

Learning online

This Live Online workshop will take place on Zoom, so you will need to have access to the internet. You will receive the Zoom link for the event via email the evening before the event.
